BattleKnight is a fantasy-based browser game that is completely free to play. German game developer Gameforge’s epic fantasy offers an experience that is easy to learn, but harder to master. With a more sophisticated combat system than browser-based games typically offer, adventures in BattleKnight feature a more hands-on feeling than resource management games.

Players start as apprentice knights or knaves in the game’s vernacular. As they level up their knave, a broader range of possibilities opens before players. They can choose to become noble knights who uphold the chivalric code, earning their silver in tournaments and quests, or to become dark knights, brigands who steal and kill for their money. Higher levels bring greater rewards and richer tournament purses. Players can also duel one another for honor or for reward.

Build up a thriving knightly estate in which to train, upgrade equipment with quests, and match wits with other players as well as NPC opponents. Earn prizes in tournaments that are worth a king’s ransom–or just ransom a king for cash if the life of a dark knight appeals. BattleKnight is free to play, but offers the opportunity to purchase more “work” hours, better equipment, and customization options via microtransactions.
