Grepolis browser game

Grepolis brings a taste of a mythologized version of ancient Greece to the free-to-play strategy browser game genre. Game developer InnoGames mixed equal parts combat and city-building in this 2D real-time strategy game. Players fight against famous heroes and monsters of myth and legend, recruiting the heroes and dispatching the monsters as they go. PVP against rival city-states adds another layer of combat complexity for players who like a good battle.

Manage resources and build carefully to ensure that city development doesn’t outstrip the technology tree, a crucial element for military success. Leave plenty of wood, coins, and rock available to research new technologies; it will pay off in the form of tougher armies, better weaponry, and new city buildings to enhance the city-state or Polis. After building strength on a starter island, construct a navy to overthrow neighboring enemies before they grow too powerful.

The world of Grepolis is extensive enough that players who wish to avoid a fight can do so–but only for a time. PVP combat is at the heart of Grepolis. Players who pay cash for in-game gold gain access to premium features such as advisors, faster gameplay, and more powerful armies. These purchases are entirely optional, though, as Grepolis remains free to play.
