Imperion browser game

The latest browser game from Travian Games looks not to the ancient world, but to far-flung worlds in this game of intergalactic exploration, colonization, and combat. In beta testing since the fourth quarter of 2009, the most recent iteration of Imperion is scheduled for a May 16 release. The newly polished space-based RTS game features upgraded graphics, better balance, and modified building times.

Players choose from one of three races to begin their quest for galactic domination. The Titans are the eldest race in the Imperion universe; they’re highly intelligent, but cautious, making them the choice of defense-minded players. Terrans are bold explorers with a taste for adventure that rivals their appetite for conquest. The green-skinned Xen use biotechnology that allows them to build hordes of ships quickly; their superior numbers can quickly overwhelm hostile troops despite having little in the way of defense.

Like its ancestor Travian, Imperion has a final goal, not just a continuing world. Banding together with others for trade and mutual defense allows confederations of players to construct mighty empires and vast fleets of starships. They will need them to face the ultimate challenge of the end game.
